Therapy for Trauma

Trauma can change your brain and nervous system, leading to dysregulation and symptoms such as depression and anxiety. As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), I can help you move beyond the trauma in your life towards increased emotional balance and increase capacity for joy and aliveness. My areas of focus in the trauma realm are: medical, race based trauma, workplace microaggresions & Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

When someone experiences a single traumatic event or recurring trauma for an extended period of time, they may struggle with upsetting emotions,  memories, or a sense of constant danger. Many people begin to feel numb, disconnected, and unable to trust other people. When bad things happen, and the difficult physical and emotional sensations do no not go away, it may be a sign that professional help is needed.  It can take a while to get over the pain and feel safe again, but with the right therapist, you can begin to recover.

As your therapist I can work you to process situations and circumstances that that disrupts and/or impacts your thinking, mood, feelings, or ability to relate to others.
